Why Use Anglian Ambulance
Anglian Ambulance and Medical Services
|
Anglian Ambulance and Medical Services provide on-site first-aid, ambulance and medical staff to any event or competition that you are organising. We do this using a small open tented first-aid point, staffing existing medical rooms or providing fully kitted and staffed emergency ambulances. Why do you need to consider who will be there in a medical emergency? The safety of the general public who attend such events and those taking part is the responsibility of the event or venue manager. The Event Safety Guide (HMSO) states: “Event organisers must ensure a competent organisation is appointed to manage medical services at an event..." |
Why can’t we just use our friends or volunteers?
While this practice still continues, it is too much to expect friends or volunteers that are not trained in medical emergencies, or suitably equipped, to provide instant care when it is needed most. At specialist events such as equestrian, motorsports, concerts, fairs, motocross etc, it can take extended periods of time for the NHS to arrive. Additionally, access for NHS vehicles is not always easy to arrange in an emergency. By having your own medical cover in place, prior to the start of your event will insure the best possible response in an emergency. Additionally, we are able to provide vehicles specifically for 4x4 events.
What makes us different from other first aid services or the volunteer sector?
Our vision has been to match the clinical excellence provided by the NHS ambulance service in the East Anglian region.
To that end, our staff are NHS personnel who still maintain regular patient contact and training standards that you would expect. Other companies use full-time first-aiders or care assistants without emergency training or experience. Many private ambulance services use personnel that have never before attended an emergency!
- All of our paramedics are UK State Registered. We do not use persons who claim to have ‘similar, comparable or paramedic-like skills’.
- All of our Emergency Medical Technicians are UK trained, IHCD tested personnel. Again we do not use EMT’s from private training firms or fire and rescue.
- Our nurses are Accident and Emergency trained, and still work in that capacity.
All our clinical staff are the same people you would meet when accessing NHS resources - this is to ensure that you receive what you expect. Do not leave your safety to chance – choose professionals. We also use ambulance trained care assistants to support our clinical staff. Again these people are trained in Basic Life Support by the NHS.
